The Leslie Group acquires Marathon Benefit Corp
Toronto, ON (May 7, 2020) – The Leslie Group Ltd., an employee benefits consulting firm based in Toronto, is pleased to announce it has acquired 100% of the shares of Marathon Benefit Corporation, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.
This merger is “a foundational step” as The Leslie Group seeks to expand its footprint in Western Canada to offer local service to its growing client base. The acquisition will enhance the value they offer to clients through their services, technology, innovation, and expert advice.
For Marathon Benefit Corp, the merger will provide existing clients with access to resources and products that were not previously available, as well as additional buying power.

The acquisition of Marathon has increased The Leslie Group’s combined group insurance premiums to $170 million and group retirement assets to $700 million under management.
The Marathon brand-name will remain, operating as a division of The Leslie Group, while Marathon and Leslie Group Alberta staff will be merged in one office location.
