How Governor Stephen Poloz reacts to this divide could set the tone for his future approach.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"related_links\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/business.financialpost.com\/news\/economy\/imf-canadian-economy-will-still-grow-in-2018-just-a-little-less\">Canadian economy will still grow in 2018, just at a slightly slower pace, IMF predicts<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/business.financialpost.com\/news\/economy\/rising-inflation-poses-biggest-test-of-polozs-cautious-stance\">Stephen Poloz&#039;s cautious approach to interest rates is about to be challenged<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/business.financialpost.com\/personal-finance\/rising-interest-rates-starting-to-pinch-more-canadians-poll-says\">More than 40% of Canadians feeling pinch of rising interest rates, up five percentage points<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Economists say business outlooks are up and inflation is rising, but a slow growth rate is dampening expectations of a hike today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCorporate Canada is feeling upbeat and have felt relatively little fallout from trade uncertainty on the back of NAFTA developments,\u201d CIBC said.<\/p>\n<p>Inflation that hit 1.6 per cent in the boom year 2017, is creeping back up.
