Not sure if this is the right subreddit, if not I&#8217;d appreciate where I can\/should post this.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m a U.S. citizen looking into studying in the Netherlands for an agronomy master&#8217;s degree in a few years. However, the one big uncertainty for me is how health insurance would work. I&#8217;ve had two liver transplants and thus am on medications that cost about $17.5k a month including a monthly infusion and anti-rejection medications, both of which I cannot live without. I&#8217;m currently on Medi-Care in FL and thus have it all covered but I will have to change insurance when I am 21, which is this year. <\/p>\n<p>How is medical costs\/insurance handled while studying abroad long-term (2 years)? Would I have to pay out of pocket?
