NEW YORK — The latest on the New York arrest of ultimate fighting star Conor McGregor (all times local):<\/p>\n
5 p.m.<\/p>\n
Mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor has been arraigned on felony criminal mischief and other charges following a backstage melee at a New York City event.<\/p>\n
McGregor answered, “Yes, your honour” when the judge asked Friday whether he understood orders to stay away from the alleged victims in the case. He also was charged with misdemeanour assault, menacing and reckless endangerment.<\/p>\n
McGregor was released on $50,000 bond and co-defendant Cian Cowley on $25,000 bond. Both are due back in court June 14.<\/p>\n
The two men exited the courthouse in Brooklyn, got into an SUV and left.<\/p>\n
McGregor’s attorney, Jim Walden, asked Judge Connie Melendez to allow his client to travel and “pursue his craft.” Walden said McGregor is “the most visible face on the planet” and has no criminal history.<\/p>\n

McGregor, looking composed, held his chin up as he walked toward an unmarked police vehicle on Friday morning.<\/p>\n
He did not acknowledge a throng of journalists or two onlookers who shouted messages of support.<\/p>\n
Video footage appears to show the promotion’s most bankable star throwing a hand truck at a bus full of fighters after a Thursday news conference for UFC 223 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.<\/p>\n
It was not immediately known if McGregor has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.<\/p>\n
