There were no visitor spots left and being that it was a quick in and out trip I parked my car along a curb and ran in. About 3 minutes later his neighbor knocks on the door stating he backed into my car. Damage is about $1000 (to my car),he filed a claim with his insurance and gave me the number. His insurance company never returned my calls so I opened a claim with mine. My agent contacted his insurance on my behalf, they (other guys insurance) stated they are in the process of gathering documentation from the condo complex to prove I was illegally parked and they will likely want some type of shared at fault settlement.

I admit, I was parked against a curb and it was not a spot but does that give someone the right to damage my property? My agent said he will send this to arbitration if they do commit to a at fault percentage. I live in New Jersey, any advice would be great.

   submitted by /u/Zeppelin707
[visit reddit] [comments]

Life Insurance Blog

I had to run over to my friends condo, he lives in your typical condo complex, assigned parking sports, separate spots for visitors , gated…ect.
