By adopting standardized codes, insurers help improve data quality and consistency across broker workflows, supporting more accurate reporting, operational efficiency, and a better broker experience.

“Congratulations to Howick, Maple, Sandbox, Stanley, Westminster and Yarmouth on achieving CSIO Compliance Certification,” said Kathryn Sinclair, President & CEO of CSIO. “This certification reflects their commitment to using industry standards to improve the accuracy and consistency of data exchanged between insurers and brokers. As more insurers align with CSIO Standards, brokers benefit from straightforward data, more reliable workflows, and a better experience for the customers they serve.”

CSIO works with insurers to support the transition from non-standard Z-codes to CSIO Standard codes, helping ensure that information is exchanged consistently across the industry. Insurers can also request new coverage codes through CSIO’s maintenance request process. Submitted requests are reviewed by CSIO’s National Standards Working Group and once approved, can be programmed immediately into insurers’ systems, eliminating the need for Z-codes.

Achieving Compliance Certification is an important step in strengthening industry-wide adoption of CSIO Standards. Greater consistency in the way data is exchanged helps reduce manual work, improve reporting and data quality, and create more streamlined digital workflows for brokers and insurers.

View our full list of certified members online and explore our certification programs.

CSIO Membership Benefits

At CSIO, insurers and technology partners gain access to CSIO Data Standards, participate in industry Working Groups, and collaborate with peers to shape the future of digital insurance.

CSIO also develops trusted digital solutions that support secure, seamless data exchange across the insurance industry, including CSIOnet for policy document exchange between insurers and brokers, and My Proof of Insurance, Canada’s leading digital proof of insurance solution for customers.

“Our members are the heart of everything we do,” said Kathryn Sinclair, President & CEO of CSIO. “We are pleased to welcome these seven organizations to a community committed to advancing data standards, driving innovation, and strengthening collaboration across Canada’s P&C industry.
