{"id":23934,"date":"2025-08-11T08:09:32","date_gmt":"2025-08-11T08:09:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/?p=835156"},"modified":"2025-08-11T08:09:32","modified_gmt":"2025-08-11T08:09:32","slug":"britains-ms-restores-click-and-collect-services-15-weeks-after-systems-hacked","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lifeinsurance-orleans.ca\/index.php\/2025\/08\/11\/britains-ms-restores-click-and-collect-services-15-weeks-after-systems-hacked\/","title":{"rendered":"Britain\u2019s M&amp;S Restores Click and Collect Services 15 Weeks After Systems Hacked"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/app\/uploads\/2025\/05\/cyber-security-concept-AdobeStock-41908523-580x435.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/app\/uploads\/2025\/05\/cyber-security-concept-AdobeStock-41908523-scaled.jpeg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<ul class=\"nav nav-tabs tabs tabs-entry\">\n<li class=\"active\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/news\/international\/2025\/08\/11\/835156.htm\">Article<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/news\/international\/2025\/08\/11\/835156.htm?comments\" rel=\"nofollow\">0 Comments<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"article-content clearfix\">\n<div class=\"font-knowledge regular line-height-1-5 text-story color-black f6 pt16 pb20 border-bottom border-gray-22 story-copy\" dir=\"auto\" data-qa-component=\"item-story\" data-rc-highlight=\"story\">\n<p>British retailer Marks &amp; Spencer has resumed taking click and collect orders for clothing after a <span class=\"tr-strong\">nearly four-month <\/span>hiatus following a cyber hack and data theft<span class=\"tr-strong\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tr-strong\">The 141-year-old M&amp;S <\/span>stopped taking orders through its website and app for clothing and home deliveries and collection from stores on April 25, three days after disclosing it was managing a \u201ccyber incident.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"bzn bzn-sized bzn-intext\">\n<ins data-revive-zoneid=\"79\" data-revive-topics=\"cyber\" data-revive-companies data-revive-block=\"1\" data-revive-id=\"36eb7c2bd3daa932a43cc2a8ffbed3a9\"><\/ins> <\/div>\n<p>It <span class=\"tr-strong\">gradually <\/span>resumed taking online orders for delivery <span class=\"tr-strong\">from<\/span> June 10 but click and collect services, which allow customers to order items online and pick up in stores, had remained suspended.<\/p>\n<p>M&amp;S\u2019s website said on Monday that click and collect had resumed <span class=\"tr-strong\">for fashion, home and beauty products. <\/span>The company did not respond immediately to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tr-strong\">Shares in M&amp;S were up 1% in early trading on Monday, paring 2025 losses to 11%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tr-strong\">Investec analyst Kate Calvert said the reinstatement of click and collect \u201cis the key \u2018back to normal\u2019 signal from a consumer perspective.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tr-strong\"> She does not expect the hack to impact M&amp;S\u2019 long-term valuation or growth prospects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In May, M&amp;S forecast the hacking of its systems would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/news\/international\/2025\/05\/21\/824570.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cost it about 300 million pounds ($404 million)<\/a> in lost operating profit in its 2025\/26 financial year, though it hopes to halve the impact through insurance and cost control.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bzn bzn-sized bzn-intext-2\">\n<ins data-revive-zoneid=\"162\" data-revive-topics=\"cyber\" data-revive-companies data-revive-block=\"1\" data-revive-id=\"36eb7c2bd3daa932a43cc2a8ffbed3a9\"><\/ins> <\/div>\n<p>As part of its management of the hack and data theft, M&amp;S took other systems offline.
