As part of its post-disaster Gray Sky Program, the collection includes high-resolution ortho and multispectral imagery across all areas, with oblique imagery captured in select urban locations.<\/p>\n<p>Every property in the Hurricane Milton Gray Sky collection features a comprehensive damage assessment along with timestamped before-and-after imagery for comparison. This enables insurers, emergency managers, and government agencies to assess the storm\u2019s impact with greater efficiency. The collection spans more than 33,000 square kilometers\u2014approximately 20% of Florida\u2014helping response and recovery needs. Across this collection, nearly 4.43 million structures were analyzed for damage.<\/p>\n<p><b>Areas Captured<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Key cities in the <span class=\"xn-location\">Florida<\/span> collection include: <span class=\"xn-location\">Anna Maria<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Bradenton<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Clearwater<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Daytona Beach<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Fort Meade<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Fort Myers<\/span>, Homosassa Springs, <span class=\"xn-location\">Kissimmee<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Lakeland<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Largo<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Longboat Key<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Melbourne<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Naples<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Orlando<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Port St. Lucie<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Sarasota<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Sebring<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Siesta Key<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Spring Hill<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">St. Petersburg<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Tampa<\/span>, and Town \u2018n\u2019 Country.<\/p>\n<p><b>Swift Response to Collect Imagery<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Hurricane Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm on <span class=\"xn-chron\">October 9<\/span>. Within 16 hours, Vexcel mobilized its first fleet of aircraft to begin collecting imagery. Over the next eight days, and as weather conditions permitted, up to nine fixed-wing aircraft were deployed daily to capture high-resolution ortho and multispectral imagery in areas affected by hurricane-force winds and tornadoes. Oblique imagery was also captured in key cities and urban areas.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the collection process, imagery was processed and released in waves to customers and partners. This imagery is all available through the Vexcel Platform and on select partner websites.<\/p>\n<p><b>Comparing Hurricane Impacts Over Time<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Vexcel\u2019s ongoing collection programs across <span class=\"xn-location\">Florida<\/span> enable before-and-after comparisons, helping stakeholders visualize the full extent of storm damage. Some areas within the <span class=\"xn-person\">Milton Gray Sky<\/span> collection also feature imagery from previous hurricanes, including Hurricane Ian in 2022, offering valuable insights that span multiple years.<\/p>\n<p>Just days before Hurricane Milton, Vexcel collected imagery from areas affected by Hurricane Helene across five states\u2014Florida, <span class=\"xn-location\">Georgia<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">North Carolina<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">South Carolina<\/span>, and <span class=\"xn-location\">Tennessee<\/span>.
