But if it does, this risks further impacting a company\u2019s reputation (and stock price) for not having acted earlier.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Who to Hire?<\/h2>\n<p><span>Does the Arnold situation point to a need for publicly traded BDs to hire savvy, experienced executives \u2014 like Raymond James did in 2009 by tapping&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thinkadvisor.com\/2016\/05\/23\/client-centric-ceo-raymond-james-paul-reilly\/\"><span>Paul Reilly<\/span><\/a><span>, who\u2019d been CEO of both Korn Ferry International and KPMG International, to be its president and then CEO?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThere\u2019s a greater expectation and need for companies generally to balance proficient business leaders with soft skills,\u201d Hoyle said. \u201cWhat one does, supports, and even hints at can carry significant ramifications.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The good news for LPL, according to Hoyle, is that interim CEO Rich Steinmeier is well suited for the position.
