Inspectors initiated their inspection under OSHA\u2019s <a title=\"National Emphasis Program - Falls\" href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/enforcement\/directives\/cpl-03-00-025\">National Emphasis Program for Falls<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bzn bzn-sized bzn-intext\">\n<ins data-revive-zoneid=\"79\" data-revive-topics=\"contractors\" data-revive-companies data-revive-block=\"1\" data-revive-id=\"36eb7c2bd3daa932a43cc2a8ffbed3a9\"><\/ins> <\/div>\n<p>The Sun Prairie company received citations for one willful, two repeat and five serious violations, and proposed $144,505 in penalties, the latest infractions for a contractor found defying federal safety regulations in <a title=\"Establishment Search Results\" href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/ords\/imis\/establishment.search?p_logger=1&amp;establishment=GL+Construction&amp;State=WI&amp;officetype=all&amp;Office=all&amp;sitezip=&amp;p_case=all&amp;p_violations_exist=all&amp;startmonth=04&amp;startday=12&amp;startyear=2014&amp;endmonth=04&amp;endday=12&amp;endyear=2024\">inspections in each of the last four years<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2023, four months prior to the latest investigation, OSHA found employees exposed to falls and other hazards at a Sun Prairie worksite and cited the company for one repeat violation and two serious violations.<\/p>\n<p>The willful and repeat violations relate to similar safety failures OSHA found during its <a title=\"Inspection: 1591017.015 - Gl Construction Of Madison Llc\" href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/ords\/imis\/establishment.inspection_detail?id=1591017.015\">investigation into the April 2022 fatality<\/a> of a GL Construction employee struck by a more than 1,000-pound wall that tipped over as a work crew tried to use a crane to lift the structure in high winds.
