{"id":21728,"date":"2024-04-19T19:34:00","date_gmt":"2024-04-19T19:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.insurance-canada.ca\/?p=80523"},"modified":"2024-04-19T19:34:00","modified_gmt":"2024-04-19T19:34:00","slug":"kevin-oleary-launches-watch-insurance-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lifeinsurance-orleans.ca\/index.php\/2024\/04\/19\/kevin-oleary-launches-watch-insurance-platform\/","title":{"rendered":"Kevin O\u2019Leary launches watch insurance platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Geneva, Switzerland (Apr. 7, 2024) \u2013 Canadian TV personality Kevin O\u2019Leary \u2013 a familiar face from both <em>Dragons\u2019 Den<\/em> and subsequently its American counterpart <em>Shark Tank<\/em> \u2013 has launched a watch insurance platform called WonderCare, in reference to his nickname, \u2018Mr. Wonderful.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been looking at the watch insurance industry worldwide now for five years \u2013 [and] how broken it is \u2013 because I look at my own situation,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kevinolearytv\/status\/1775662020034957510\">wrotpostede on X<\/a> (formerly Twitter). \u201cI\u2019m launching WonderCare \u2026 a new platform for watch insurance. I\u2019m going to start in the United States, then we\u2019re going to go to the [United Arab Emirates], and then we\u2019re going to do Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Touting the three years of work leading up to the launch \u2013 \u201cIt\u2019s <em>really<\/em> complex to do this\u201d \u2013 he explained that an ordinary property insurance package may not be adequate for certain assets, based on his own situation as a collector of expensive timepieces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost home insurance packages, or many, depreciate the value of the underlying insured piece.
