People in these situations are considered \u2018missing participants,\u2019\u201d EBSA said.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/public-inspection\/2024-07968\/agency-information-collection-activities-proposals-submissions-and-approvals-retirement-savings-lost\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">notice of proposed information collection<\/a>&nbsp;asks plan administrators&nbsp;to provide the information voluntarily on or before July 17, and proposes that \u201cplan administrators can attach the requested information to their 2023 Form 5500 once they receive instructions on how to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What You Need to Know EBSA is seeking information from plan administrators to establish an online search tool to help workers locate lost retirement savings.
