{"id":21343,"date":"2024-02-02T17:23:14","date_gmt":"2024-02-02T17:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/?p=759249"},"modified":"2024-02-02T17:23:14","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T17:23:14","slug":"liberty-mutual-to-eliminate-250-positions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lifeinsurance-orleans.ca\/index.php\/2024\/02\/02\/liberty-mutual-to-eliminate-250-positions\/","title":{"rendered":"Liberty Mutual to Eliminate 250 Positions"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"nav nav-tabs tabs tabs-entry\">\n<li class=\"active\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/news\/national\/2024\/02\/02\/759249.htm\">Article<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/news\/national\/2024\/02\/02\/759249.htm?comments\" rel=\"nofollow\">0 Comments<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"article-content clearfix\">\n<p>Liberty Mutual has confirmed it is eliminating about 250 positions, or 0.5% of its global workforce, as it continues implementing new organizational structures within US Retail Markets and Global Risk Solutions units.<\/p>\n<p>In an email a spokesperson said some employees had been notified off the position eliminations this week but the Boston-based insurer hopes to \u201cminimize the actual reduction by offering opportunities to many of these impacted individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"bzn bzn-sized bzn-intext\">\n<ins data-revive-zoneid=\"79\" data-revive-block=\"1\" data-revive-id=\"36eb7c2bd3daa932a43cc2a8ffbed3a9\"><\/ins> <\/div>\n<p>Most of the eliminations will be effective in April or May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been transparent with our employees that we are on a multi-year transformation to ensure our organization is set up for future success and to address the rise of emerging risks,\u201d a company spokesperson said via email. \u201cThis means we are reimagining and optimizing our business \u2013 including our product portfolio, an intentional focus of our global footprint, and investment in innovation and capabilities \u2013 while prioritizing our efforts to focus on how we can provide the most value for our customers, agents, brokers and partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The latest news follows a late October 2023 announcement of an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/news\/national\/2023\/10\/27\/745982.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">additional 850 layoffs<\/a> on top of about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/news\/national\/2023\/07\/17\/730946.htm\">370 jobs lost<\/a> in the U.S. as the result of an earlier restructuring.<\/p>\n<p>Liberty Mutual may be the first to break the ice in 2024, but in 2023 stories on the topic of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/news\/national\/2023\/12\/29\/753729.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">layoffs in the insurance industry<\/a> were among the most read.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article-poll\" data-post=\"759249\">\n<div class=\"article-poll-vote\">\n<p>Was this article valuable?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article-poll-feedback voted-no\">\n<form class=\"feedback-form\">\n<p>Thank you!
