The corporation noted in its third-quarter filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that its property and casualty premiums were $16.6 million, down slightly from $17.6 million for Q3 2022.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bzn bzn-sized bzn-intext\">\n<ins data-revive-zoneid=\"79\" data-revive-topics=\"profit-loss\" data-revive-companies data-revive-block=\"1\" data-revive-id=\"36eb7c2bd3daa932a43cc2a8ffbed3a9\"><\/ins> <\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-748401 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/app\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Am-southern-logo.png\" alt width=\"114\" height=\"95\">American Southern, which concentrates in commercial <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/news\/southeast\/2021\/11\/24\/643498.htm\">auto liability<\/a> and general liability coverage, saw a healthy combined ratio of 98%, which was up slightly from the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted with the improvements in net income for each of the quarter and year-to-date period,\u201d CEO Hilton Howell said in a statement. \u201cAlthough our revenue numbers are off slightly compared to prior year, operating income remains quite strong for 2023.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Atlantic American is traded on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the symbol AAME.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagtag\"> <span class=\"tagtag\">Topics<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/profit-loss\/\" class=\"btn btn-sm btn-primary tagtag\">Profit Loss<\/a> <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article-poll\" data-post=\"748390\">\n<div class=\"article-poll-vote\">\n<p>Was this article valuable?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"article-poll-feedback voted-no\">\n<form class=\"feedback-form\">\n<p>Thank you!
