{"id":20974,"date":"2023-11-10T15:17:19","date_gmt":"2023-11-10T15:17:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.insurance-canada.ca\/?p=78822"},"modified":"2023-11-10T15:17:19","modified_gmt":"2023-11-10T15:17:19","slug":"ibao-provides-consumer-data-for-brokers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lifeinsurance-orleans.ca\/index.php\/2023\/11\/10\/ibao-provides-consumer-data-for-brokers\/","title":{"rendered":"IBAO Provides Consumer Data for Brokers"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>IBAO is taking steps to become the go-to place for market intelligence data for brokers<\/h3>\n<p>Toronto, ON (Nov. 2, 2023) \u2013 The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) has published a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibao.org\/consumer-data-reports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">new data project<\/a> as part of an effort to become a centralized source of market intelligence data for Ontario brokers.<\/p>\n<p>For this new project\u2014completed in partnership with the data firm <a href=\"https:\/\/environicsanalytics.com\/en-ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Environics Analytics<\/a>\u2014they compiled consumer data from across Ontario and produced consumer reports for 79 geographical areas within the province. These reports contain segmented demographic information, which will allow brokerages to better target their advertising and sales efforts. The reports also contain information on the types of businesses that exist within these same areas, giving brokerages valuable strategic information for their Commercial Lines business growth planning.<\/p>\n<p>These reports are available for free to IBAO Members\u2014they can find the password in IBAO\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/members.ibao.org\/IBAO\/Sign_In.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Member Resource Library<\/a>&nbsp;in the&nbsp;<em>Consumer Data&nbsp;<\/em>folder.&nbsp;A free preview of these reports&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibao.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Toronto-Centre.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">is available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re always looking for new ways to empower Ontario Brokers,\u201d said IBAO COO Brett Boadway. \u201cMore consumer data for brokers will lead to the generation of stronger business outcomes. This supports a major goal of the IBAO, which is to ensure that our members are industry leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This project was the result of a recent mandate from IBAO\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibao.org\/board-of-directors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Board of Directors<\/a> to invest in data to provide insight into IBAO Members\u2019 client base. Given its unique position with the industry, IBAO is investing is these resources with the goal of becoming a significant source of market intelligence for its Members and strategic partners.<\/p>\n<p>Building upon an existing project, IBAO also just released the results of the third year of their Member Benchmark Survey\u2014carried out in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.normandin-beaudry.ca\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Normandin Beaudry<\/a>.&nbsp;This survey collects operational and compensation data to allow brokerage management to compare their salaries to the aggregated data to assist in their planning and operating strategies. The data is available in a custom dashboard that allows users to filter by geography, brokerage size and brokerage type (digital or traditional). This includes compensation averages for common roles\u2014TSRs, CSRs, Producers and Managers, each separately tracked for Personal Lines &amp; Commercial Lines. They also collected details about hybrid work requirements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLeveraging data like the benchmarking survey we conduct with IBAO Members is a key foundational tool in assessing the competitiveness of an organization\u2019s compensation programs,\u201d said Brett.<\/p>\n<p>Only brokerages who participated in this compensation study have access to the salary data. Principal Brokers of participating brokerages&nbsp;can access the&nbsp;dashboard&nbsp;by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ibao.us11.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=7a142d86628eaa65a521be677&amp;id=1d9e06fa53&amp;e=12fc4814a5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">logging&nbsp;into&nbsp;their IBAO account<\/a>&nbsp;and selecting the&nbsp;<em>Benchmark&nbsp;Dashboard<\/em>&nbsp;tab&nbsp;on their profile page.
