That move had deep implications for some of your clients\u2019 health insurance.<\/p>\n<p>One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2023\/02\/10\/notice-on-the-continuation-of-the-national-emergency-concerning-the-coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19-pandemic-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emergency declaration<\/a> mandate required Medicaid to keep people enrolled in Medicaid, even if their family income increased too much for them to meet the program\u2019s usual income limits.<\/p>\n<p>Another provision required that COVID tests, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancequotes.com\/insurance-tips\/fall-2021-covid-health-insurance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID vaccines<\/a> developed under Operation Warp Speed and many antiviral treatments be offered to patients with no out-of-pocket cost.<\/p>\n<p>States are now working to&nbsp;wind down swollen Medicaid enrollment levels.<\/p>\n<p>People who earn too much to qualify and want to stay covered will have to try to get an Affordable Care Act Marketplace plan, coverage through an employer-sponsored plan, or coverage through some other type of private arrangement.<\/p>\n<p>That could eventually affect as many as 14 million people nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, private plans no longer have to eliminate out-of-pocket costs for COVID tests and treatments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The White House began terminating the COVID-19 national emergency declaration in May.
