The Caisse de d\u00e9p\u00f4t et placement du Qu\u00e9bec is among the investors raising $55 million in financing for Onapsis, an application cyber security and compliance company.<\/p>\n

The investment, alongside NightDragon Security and existing investors .406 Ventures, LLR Partners Inc. and Arsenal Venture Partners, will be used to significantly scale the company through expansion into the applications market, according to a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a long-term investor, we\u2019re pleased with the quality of the company\u2019s partnerships with leading business software providers and its recognition as an organization at the forefront of cyber threat detection and remediation.\u201d said Alexandre Synnett, executive vice-president and chief technology officer at the Caisse, in the release. \u201cWe look forward to supporting the new growth initiatives put forward by the Onapsis management team and contributing, through this investment, to improving global cyber security.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System\u2019s private equity arm is leading a $100 million round of Series E funding for Dialpad Inc.<\/p>\n

Dialpad provides businesses with a mobile communications platform that covers phone systems, conferencing and call centre needs. Its technology allows it to provide real-time transcription services, automated note-taking and live sentiment and voice analytics.<\/p>\n

The latest round of capital, which includes several other investors, will be used to continue to accelerate innovation and expand domestically and internationally, according to a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe cloud-based software and artificial intelligence are in the early stages of widespread adoption and Dialpad is playing a leading role in this change,\u201d said Mark Shulgan, managing director and head of growth equity at the OMERS, in a press release. \u201cWe are proud to join Dialpad\u2019s impressive roster of existing investors and look forward to taking this journey with the company.\u201d<\/p>\n
