Toronto, ON (Sept. 14, 2020) \u2014 Zensurance , Canada\u2019s most advanced online commercial insurance platform, is rolling out a first-of-its-kind Commercial Broker Training Program. The five-week training program presents an exciting opportunity for those with limited industry experience to receive the specialized training required to succeed in the commercial insurance space bolstered by the innovative principles that enabled Zensurance to become Canada\u2019s fastest-growing InsurTech start-up.<\/p>\n
The Program, developed in conjunction with the regulatory body, The Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO), and membership organization, The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO), follows a comprehensive curriculum \u201cdesigned to set up new insurance talent with the training and tools required to lay the foundation for a rewarding career in Commercial Insurance,\u201d according to Vice President of Operations at Zensurance, Trevor McIntosh.<\/p>\n
The first cohort will commence on August 31 with a private two-week RIBO prep course, which will provide new hires with the training required to pass their Level 1 Licensing Exams. Following the licensing exam\u2019s successful completion, the newly licensed brokers will partake in Zensurance\u2019s in-house ZenAcademy Commercial Broker Training Program, a three-week-long \u201cmemorable and immersive\u201d training program, designed and delivered virtually by Irene Gomes, Manager of Learning & Development.<\/p>\n
The remote Program follows a curriculum consisting of case studies, virtual practice labs, and lectures given by subject matter experts from top-carriers and partners, including the IBAO.<\/p>\n
To round out their industry education, learners are enrolled in the IBAO\u2019s Commercial Insurance Certificate Program \u2013 an on-demand Learning opportunity designed to transition experienced personal lines brokers into a contemporary commercial lines broker. After completing the IBAO\u2019s Program plus a series of summative evaluations, the New Broker Associates must pass a Final Assessment before they receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Zensurance.<\/p>\n
According to McIntosh, \u201cCompany-paid programs like this are hard to find, or often provide training in the personal lines space exclusively.\u201d The lack of commercial-specific insurance training, paired with the limitations imposed on training and licensing due to the coronavirus pandemic, has made it difficult to recruit talent ready to hit the ground running amidst the pandemic.
