{"id":18989,"date":"2020-07-15T13:23:05","date_gmt":"2020-07-15T17:23:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/insurancenewsnet.com\/?post_type=innarticle&amp;p=5643724"},"modified":"2020-07-15T13:23:05","modified_gmt":"2020-07-15T17:23:05","slug":"life-insurance-activity-rises-again-in-june-mib-reports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lifeinsurance-orleans.ca\/index.php\/2020\/07\/15\/life-insurance-activity-rises-again-in-june-mib-reports\/","title":{"rendered":"Life Insurance Activity Rises Again In June, MIB Reports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>After pandemic-related declines in March thru April, U.S. life insurance application activity rose for the second consecutive month, up 1.2% in June year over year, according to the MIB Life Index.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the initial quarantine period straddling both the first and second quarters of 2020, the second quarter finished up 1% YOY, with the first quarter showing 1.8% YOY gains.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5643754\" src=\"https:\/\/insurancenewsnet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2020_07_life_index_chart.jpg\" alt width=\"270\" height=\"339\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-full wp-image-5643754\" src=\"https:\/\/insurancenewsnet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2020_07_life_index_chart.jpg\" alt width=\"270\" height=\"339\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 270px) 100vw, 270px\"><\/p>\n<p>At the close of the second quarter, the composite MIB Life Index is up 1.5% for the year. June\u2019s application activity was off -1.7% from that of May, a time period where gains and losses have been historically mixed, MIB reported.<\/p>\n<p>Below age 60 life insurance buyers led once again but at a slowing pace compared to May.
