{"id":18638,"date":"2020-06-10T00:52:04","date_gmt":"2020-06-10T04:52:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifeinsurance-orleans.ca\/Life-Insurance-Blog\/insurer-unveils-in-province-virtual-medical-assistance\/"},"modified":"2020-06-10T00:52:04","modified_gmt":"2020-06-10T04:52:04","slug":"insurer-unveils-in-province-virtual-medical-assistance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lifeinsurance-orleans.ca\/index.php\/2020\/06\/10\/insurer-unveils-in-province-virtual-medical-assistance\/","title":{"rendered":"Insurer unveils in-province virtual medical assistance"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-res.keymedia.com\/cms\/images\/ca\/110\/0348_637273615061250003.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>Orion Travel Insurance, a CAA-owned company, has achieved a Canadian first by offering Virtual Emergency Medical Assistance for vacationers choosing to stay in their home province.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe felt it was important to add Virtual Emergency Medical Assistance to in-province travel, to help travellers preserve as much of their vacation as possible if faced with a medical emergency,&#8221; said Kellee Irwin, vice president, Orion Travel Insurance.<\/p>\n<p>Irwin noted that coronavirus-induced restrictions have highlighted gaps in the coverage available for in-province travel compared to international and inter-province travel.<\/p>\n<p>Already included as part of Orion\u2019s emergency medical coverage for out-of-province and international travel, the company\u2019s Virtual Emergency Medical Assistance is now also embedded into Multi-Trip Annual Plans and Multi-Trip Annual Vacation Package Plans for travellers within province.<\/p>\n<p>Under existing and new annual plans, travellers can benefit from up to four virtual visits through CAA Assistance provided by licensed doctors within Canada.
