You need this permit, even if the burial or other arrangements will take place outside the province.<\/p>\n<p>If the death was\u00a0<strong>outside Ontario<\/strong>, but the burial and arrangements will take place in the province, you will need a\u00a0<strong>burial, transit or removal permit<\/strong>\u00a0from the jurisdiction where the death occurred.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Death Registration<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A funeral director usually oversees the process of registering a death.<\/p>\n<p>To register,\u00a0 a funeral director submits 2 documents to a municipal clerk\u2019s office:<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Medical Certificate of Death:<\/strong>\u00a0the attending doctor or a coroner completes this form, outlining the cause of death.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Statement of Death:<\/strong>\u00a0a family member and a funeral director complete this form, together.
